Sunshine Coast Stakeholder Forum Highlights the Importance of Community Education

In a commitment to continuous improvement and community engagement, Queensland Public Trustee recently hosted a dynamic stakeholder forum on the Sunshine Coast. Focused on ‘Matters of Trust’, the forum marked the end of Queensland Seniors Month and Carers Week, and addressed critical topics such as Wills, enduring powers of attorney, executors, and financial management for vulnerable Queenslanders.

The morning kicked off with a distinguished panel of subject matter experts from Queensland Public Trustee, diving into key topics and presenting the latest research. Attendees participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion, followed by a Q&A session and breakout discussions aimed at exploring avenues for ongoing improvement.

Representatives from diverse sectors, including healthcare, legal, protective services, citizen advocacy, and local government, came together to contribute their perspectives. The synergy of public and private sector collaboration created an enriching environment for knowledge exchange and networking.

It was positive to hear that the community education outcomes were achieved, with one Sunshine Coast attendee remarking, "The forum greatly improved my understanding of the Public Trustee. The panel approach allowed for different perspectives with case study examples. The Q&A was excellent."

Queensland Public Trustee appreciates all forms of feedback as we deliver on our commitment to transparency and collaboration. We look forward to continuing our state-wide outreach in 2024, providing more opportunities for stakeholders to participate in events that contribute to the collective knowledge and well-being of our communities.
