Claim unclaimed money

If you have searched the unclaimed money register and believe you have money owed to you, you should submit a claim form.

To claim money, you must have the following supporting documentation:

  • 100 points of identification (e.g. driver’s licence, passport, credit cards, Medicare card). You must include copies of the documents certified by a Justice of the Peace, Commissioner for Declarations or another person authorised under the Oaths Act 1867.
  • Where funds are held in joint or multiple names, evidence of your association with the lodger of the funds. (All parties must claim at the same time.)
  • For claims on behalf of a company or business, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission print-out of the office holders of the company. Only the office holders can sign the claim.

Incomplete applications

We cannot process claims that do not meet the requirements outlined on the application form.  Incomplete applications will be returned with a request for resubmission with the required information. We do not keep copies of incomplete applications.
