The Term Investment and Cash Account interest rates will not be changed in the near future in an effort to support vulnerable Queenslanders during this time of unprecedented global uncertainty, while economic activity and employment are under significant pressure from the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Interest Rates Payable

Interest is payable on amounts held in the Public Trustee’s common fund. Interest rates are prescribed by Regulation. The Public Trustee Regulation 2012 can be accessed via the Queensland Government Legislation website.

Current interest rates are detailed below. To the extent of any inconsistency, the Regulation applies. If you have any enquiries, please contact us.

Term Investment Accounts

The interest rate for Term Investment Accounts is 0.85% per annum. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly for Term Investment Accounts.

Cash Accounts

The interest rates for Cash Accounts are below. Interest is calculated daily and paid annually for Cash Accounts.

Funds held in the Cash and Term Investment Accounts are invested in the Public Trustee Common Fund. The interest rate is set monthly in advance. If you have any questions about rates, please contact us online, or call 1300 360 044.
