New online resource hub for Queensland’s housing and homelessness sector

6 April 2021

Over 100 people turned out for the launch of Q Shelter’s new digital resource hub named The Deck.

The hub features the latest sector news, resources, jobs and events for those working in the housing and homeless sector.

Acting Public Trustee of Queensland and CEO Samay Zhouand said The Deck was an important tool for those who provide essential support services to some of our most vulnerable Queenslanders.

The launch was held at the new gardens in the Lady Bowen Precinct, which was developed by Reclink, with advice provided by Uncle Joe Kirk, local artist and Elder for Turrbal People. The project was supported by partners Mission Australia, Bric Housing, Q Shelter and the Lady Bowen Trust.

“The Lady Bowen Trust seeks to re-engage people experiencing chronic homelessness and it is one of five charitable Trusts the Public Trustee provides trustee services for,” Mr Zhouand said.

“With almost 20,000 homeless people in Queensland, the Public Trustee is proud to support the Lady Bowen Trust by managing their funds and distributing funding to their partner charities.”
